6 months from outbreak to vaccine

If the virus mutates to a human to human virus, it will take 6 months from the time scientists learn which virus mutated until the vaccine reaches the average citizen. During these 6 months you will need to hunker down away from people to prevent the spread of the virus. Without a vaccine, if the virus has the strength of the current H5N1, it will kill about 55% of the people who catch this flu, and closer to 90% of the young (under 40) who catch it.
